Darren Elwell is a freelance illustrator, specialising primarily in children’s book illustration.
“The work contained on this site is a small sample of current illustration work from the last year or so. Following my Natural History Illustration degree which demanded a tight, ultra-realistic method of painting, my work developed into a freer, more confident style of painting which relies on strong drawing skills. My illustrations combine traditional drawing and painting techniques with Photoshop skills to further augment the work, while still retaining a personal, hand-drawn quality which is suitable for the children’s book market.”
